Gloria Ariel was born in London 93 years ago. She became a passionate Zionist in her teens and joined a hachsharah farm in Thaxted, which belonged to the Mizrachi movement. Subsequently emigrated to Israel by herself in 1954, at the age of 21. She joined the first religious ulpan in kibbutz Sa'ad in the northern negev. Married a kibbutz chaver, originally from the US and left the kibbutz. Eventually she became among the founders of moshav Kfar Maimon in the negev in 1960. She is now living in a senior residence home in Shoresh. Mother of 4 children, 18 grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren and still counting.
