Dr. Ian McGonigle is a cultural anthropologist at Harvard University, where he is an affiliate of the Kennedy School’s Program on Science, Technology, and Society; and a PhD candidate in Middle Eastern Studies and Anthropology. He specializes in contemporary Israeli society, with a focus on the relationship between biological technologies and national identity. Ian holds a BA from Trinity College Dublin, a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, and masters degrees in cultural and social anthropology from the University of Chicago and Harvard University. His current research project is a cultural study of quality wine production in the West Bank area of Israel/Palestine.
