Rabbi Dr. Matthew Kaufman serves as the rabbi of Congregation Kehillat Israel in Lansing, MI, and he is a fixed term assistant professor in the Department of History at Michigan State University. He is the author of Horace Kallen Confronts America: Jewish Identity, Science, and Secularism (Syracuse University Press, 2019).
