Paula vW. Dail is an American Jew, an emerita research professor of social welfare and public policy, and an award-winning non-fiction and fiction writer. She holds a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She enjoyed a 30 year academic career at two major universities, becoming widely published in the social sciences before becoming a full-time author. She learned a lot about the world outside sheltered academic life as as a columnist, editorial and feature writer for a small rural newspaper group, which was much more fun than hard work. She has spent time in Israel.
