Ron Cohen, M.D. was Founder, President and CEO of Acorda Therapeutics, a public biotechnology company focused on therapies for disorders of the nervous system, for over 30 years. Dr. Cohen has raised over $1.2 billion in funding, has led or overseen the clinical development programs for 10 innovative medicines, and has presided over the acquisition of 3 companies and the commercialization of 4 pharmaceutical products. Dr. Cohen also served as Chair of Board of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, which represents over 1,200 U.S. and international biotech companies. He has a B.A. from Princeton and M.D. from the Columbia College of Physicians & Surgeons. He is a dual citizen, with deep roots in both the US and Israel to which his grandparents immigrated, fleeing pogroms to find better lives as Jews. Dr. Cohen - and his 96 year old Israeli mother - will be voting for Kamala Harris.
