Born and living in Vancouver, Canada, Shelley Civkin recently retired from her job as librarian and communications officer for a public library. She currently writes a bi-weekly column about retirement for a local newspaper, and for 17 years, wrote a weekly book review column. Shelley grew up secular, but since retirement, has immersed herself in Jewish learning and is exploring her Judaism on a deeper level.
