Toby Anne Axelrod is a New York-born journalist for English-language Jewish publications, particularly the JTA (Jewish Telegraphic Agency). She moved to Berlin in 1997 as a Fulbright Journalism scholar, and currently lives in Berlin and in Western Massachusetts. She also is a translator and has directed an academic program in German Jewish studies in Berlin. Toby is a co-founder of and active volunteer with Limmud.de, which held its first event in 2006.
