Because I Don’t Know What to Say

Saying Something

I don’t know what to say.

I don’t know what to say to fix the hurt that I feel.

I am a proud supporter of Israel. I will praise it and love it till I die because as a Jew, and I feel that it is my duty.

Yet, what do I say to defend it?

I don’t know what to say.

I don’t know what to say to the kid in my class that declares Israel should be condemned for its mistreatment of Palestinians. I fear that if I agree, the state of Israel will cease to exist and then, where is my homeland?

I don’t know what to say when a kid, my age, is murdered while studying abroad, getting an education and no one knows because no American newspaper cared enough to report about it. Yet a Palestinian terrorist beaten by police made headlines nationwide.

I don’t know what to say.

I’m speechless because it is an issue too complicated to verbalize.

I’m having trouble finding right, but so easily finding wrong.

What do you say if you don’t pick sides?

What does silence say if I say nothing.

I don’t really want to say anymore.
