Big Tech’s Truth War: Censor, Control, Repeat

Moral Standards
The world has changed… and not for the better. Moral standards have slowly, yet surely, taken a nosedive, and we’re witnessing this shift most clearly in how Israel and Jews are treated. Antisemitism, cleverly disguised as Anti-Zionism, has become an accepted part of our daily routine, woven into every layer of society. Social media has only made it worse, turning the tide of hate into something far more insidious. Enter the influencers and propaganda tools—born from a virtual landscape, amplified by platforms like Facebook (or should we call it “Fakebook”?), X, Instagram, and especially TikTok. And none of this is new. We’re no longer shocked by it; it’s just the state of affairs now.

The True Face Of Linkedin:
But there’s another platform that’s often overlooked in the conversation—LinkedIn. Yes, LinkedIn, the “professional” social network with over 706 million members, 50 million companies, and a presence in 200 countries. It’s owned by Microsoft, which is anything but pro-Israel—though calling it “anti-Israel” might be a bit too kind. I run a non-profit called “Time To Stand Up For Israel” (TTSUFI), dedicated to educating about Israel and Judaism, combatting antisemitism, and fostering connections between Israeli companies and investors. I created our LinkedIn page in January 2021, and by May of that year, Israel was under attack from Gaza rockets, and a worldwide anti-Israel campaign took off. That’s when the real chaos began.

Holocaust Denial & Nazi Glorification:
Suddenly, the world’s Israel haters had a new battlefield: LinkedIn. They came for every factual pro-Israel post, reporting it left and right while posting vile, antisemitic content in return. Holocaust denial, open glorification of Hitler, and unapologetic support for internationally recognized terrorist organizations like Hamas—content that, in many countries, is a criminal offense. Yet, these posts somehow didn’t violate LinkedIn’s policies. One post even depicted a Nazi shooting a Jew in the head. This kind of content was left standing, while our factual posts were deleted repeatedly. In the end, LinkedIn wiped out our company page completely, and I had to prove that TTSUFI was a legitimate organization before they allowed me back on. Meanwhile, my personal account—needed to manage the company page—was permanently restricted.

The Battle Against Linkedin:
Since that day in 2021, I’ve fought to regain access, but after October 7th, things got worse. More and more pro-Israel advocates were removed for vague, unclear reasons, while those promoting the most heinous antisemitic content remained untouched. It’s deeply painful to acknowledge that the CEO of LinkedIn is Jewish, as are many of the executives. Not one of them stood by us in this battle. Not a single one helped us challenge this appalling double standard. Sure, some individuals get their accounts back after threatening lawsuits, but the larger issue—anti-Israel hate speech—is much harder to tackle. LinkedIn, as a private company, is able to stick to its own rules, regardless of the content being criminal or harmful. And with its headquarters in the US, alongside a secondary one in Ireland—a country notoriously hostile to Jews—it’s nearly impossible to take legal action.

Enough = Enough:
Meanwhile, influential figures, once banned, can often find their way back onto the platform, their return either due to status or, maybe, money. Why fight a battle when it no longer affects them? This is the cynical nature of human opportunism at work. But if you truly want to support Israel and fight antisemitism, it’s time we unite. Millions of us need to rise up and demand that LinkedIn and other social media platforms stop spreading hate and lies. Enough is enough.

It keeps astonishing that people fear big tech companies or allow them to control their lives. If we do not stand together against the dangers of censorship, double standards, and the spread of hate, the situation for Israel and Jews, in particular, will only deteriorate further. Therefore, we must call on these platforms to only tolerate factual, evidence-based posts and reject discrimination, threats, and the promotion of terror.
