A hostage deal has been reached—a challenging decision that no other country would agree to. For Israel, the priority is the immediate return of the 33 hostages.

It has been far too long—469 days of confronting the images of hostage posters. Each one represented is more than just a name; they are people whose birthdays we have celebrated and whose hobbies we have come to know. We have learned about their favorite songs, dreams, and passions—all of which resonate with us in profound ways.

Many of us feel this is an unfair deal, knowing that Israel is expected to release 50 prisoners—terrorists who have received multiple life sentences—in exchange for one Israeli single woman who was taken hostage.

For Hamas, the situation is a matter of making demands and engaging in bargaining. Tragically, not all of the 33 hostages being released are expected to be alive. In exchange, Hamas is seeking 100 Palestinian prisoners who are serving life sentences, and there are indications that Israel may ultimately release up to 1,000 Palestinian prisoners as part of the agreement.

In a statement from the Bibas family, they said: “We are aware of reports claiming that all our family members are included in Phase A of the agreement, with Shiri and the children among the first to be released. However, experience and past disappointments have taught us caution—this story isn’t over until our loved ones cross the border. We are still awaiting confirmation of their release and condition. During this sensitive time, we kindly ask not to be contacted and urge everyone to refrain from spreading unverified rumors.”

As we wipe the tears from our eyes, we anxiously await the safe return of all 98 hostages.

We stand united on this mission—Jews and non-Jews alike—supporting the families in our prayers to Bring Them Home.
