Bye-bye Bibi: a Levite prophecy

If readers have not read Yossi Klein Halevi’s brilliantly-written article regarding the end of Netanyahu’s rule , they are, in my opinion, missing one of the most concise reasons to send him a bye-bye message.

It is one of the most outstanding articles about the last ten years of Israeli politics that I have ever read.

Halevi (the Levite) prophesizes on the end of a brilliant career of a prime minister who put his own ego and his own personal wishes over the will and the needs of the people. He and his wife come first. Leftovers are for the common folk. He has no shame and consistently lies about his crimes.

Perhaps, when the shame of his indictment is revealed and a prison sentence awaits him, he may begin to redact the notes of his legacy which Sara the dominant has begun to dictate for him just as she dictates every step he takes, every word he speaks. When she tells him to jump, he responds “how high?”

Halevi’s blog is enshrined in a picture of Bibi sinking into the waters of the sea, his head beginning the descent beneath them. One picture is worth a thousand words !

For the ten years of his rule, Bibi has assaulted and insulted with filthy name-calling the Arab members of the Knesset in addition to his total lack of any respect to 20% of our population. He simply hates Arabs. Lieberman is not too far behind, calling them “our enemies”.

But now, in the second round of elections, the Arab Joint List, with the exception of Balad, is taking its long-awaited revenge. The Arab population turned out in the “droves”, to use the Bibi phrase, and used their power to rid him of a victory. The Arab delegates intended to drive him out of political power. And they have been successful.

Yossi Klein Halevi’s opus magnum is deserving of a Nobel Prize for Truth.

For many years, Bibi’s efforts were outstanding, particularly in the realm of support and recognition by many leaders of countries, including most recently, leaders of Muslim Arab countries. They hailed Israel’s achievements in agriculture, engineering, hi-tech, weapon advancement, water development and an entire list of sundry virtues under Netanyahu’s administration.

But almost all of his political achievements were symbolic of his gigantic ego in which he put himself always first, the rest of the public being less significant to him.

Much of the fault lies in his home. His wife dictated who he should employ and who he should dismiss. Most of our ambassadors were chosen by Sara’s “suggestions”. And too much influence of a wayward son who has visions of becoming a prime minister one day. God/Allah forbid !

Yossi the Levite is in true prophetic tradition. Amos, Hosea, Isaiah and Jeremiah would be very proud of him indeed. He may attempt to quote Amos’ remark, “lo navi anochi v’lo ben navi”… I am not a prophet nor the son of a prophet. Nevertheless, Amos did prophesy to the children of Israel. The problem was that unfortunately too many ignored his words.

Yossi Klein Halevi’s words cannot and should not be ignored.

President Rivlin will make his decision in a few days. Who will be our next prime minister? He is advocating, as Bibi is also advocating, a unified government based on a rotation of the prime ministers.

The main problem is: can Benny Gantz trust Binyamin Netanyahu? In fact, who can trust him? Only Sara.

I am sending a copy of this article together with an attachment of Yossi Klein Halevi’s prophecy to the Nobel committee in Oslo. His article deserves the cherished prize.
