Controversial, brilliant general calls for new approach to war

.
All this presupposes that the conflict will continue, will go on and on, neither side able to force the issue nor defeat the other in battle.

This is because the battlefield is very extensive; the struggle to dominate it has been both long and hard with an apparently endless supply of combatants prepared to do or die upon every level of its multi-layered surface.

Yet no one thinks to shunt the entire contest into what could be the next phase of its development, a natural progression from a traditional setting into one much more advanced and with the certainty of fairly rapid and relatively painless conclusion.

All battles to date have been be fought in a manner and at a time consistent with their place in history. But here, in the 21st century and at the beginning of yet another new year, hasn’t a complete makeover in present specifications for the conduct of warfare become well overdue?

Bigadier General (res) Gal Hirsch seems to think so. But maybe we can all go him one stage better. Several more as it happens.
