Despite All Odds – Torah Portion Va’era

Despite All Odds Believe Beyond Human Prognosis

Torah Portion Va’era

In the midst of pain, chaos and turmoil,

Under the suppression of slavery,

When injustice chained lives to gruesome toil,

Many final groans pierced life’s mortuary.

Moses asks G-d for hope in despair;

In reply, G-d states, He never ceased to care.

One’s head must be held high in stormy seas,

Not to sink and drown amid moans and pleas.

How to stop from swallowing swelling waters,

To survive the tumult of the rising seas?

Fight to swim against the current of the slaughters;

Brings hope for Divine help for freedom’s keys.

Dear Lord, what then can we learn from Moses,

Despite all odds, believe beyond human prognosis.
