Did Obama just draw a red line in Iraq?

Now this should scare the day lights out of the horde of Jihadists who just ran over major cities in Iraq and are now gearing up for the final push on Baghdad.

President Obama told reporters in Washington that he is looking at “all options” including military action.

Handle this stern warning, you evil doers! And while you are at it; go ahead and file it next to Obama’s warnings to Putin for carving up Ukraine and Assad for gassing civilians.

The fall of major Iraqi cities of Fallujah, Mosul and Tikrit has been a walkover for the Jihadists of the so-called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and Levant’ (ISIS). The multi billion-dollar US taxpayer funded and painstakingly trained Iraqi ‘Army’ dissolved itself before you could say ‘Jihad’ – abandoning fortified positions, armored vehicles and weaponry; and taking off their uniforms while on the run.

With territories extending from Aleppo in Syria to the outskirts of Baghdad, the jihadist of ISIS are not waiting to see the outcome of the final battle of Baghdad and already proclaimed the Kingdom of Allah on earth – in customary fashion – by beheading the detractors and forbidding the women off the streets.

This is a category 5 hurricane heading towards Iraqi capital of Baghdad or as President Obama would call it: practically ‘ending the US engagement in Iraq’.

This is a bold new incarnation of militant Islam in the Middle East. No more suicide bombing, no more roadside IEDs, No more hide and seek with drones in the sand dunes. They have come out of their dug up holes and geared up in battle formations.

The spectacular rise of the ‘Islamic State of Iraq and Levant’ is not a result of a military genius on the part of the Jihadists, but born out of politics of appeasement and lack of willingness in the West to confront this and other malignant offshoots of militant Islam.

The Jihadists have repeatedly tested the Western resolve and found it hollow.

From Cairo speech in 2009 to the release of top-Taliban Generals, Obama administration has disregarded conventional wisdom and rules of engagement – emboldening enemies and alienating allies.

President Obama’s red lines do not hold in Arabian sands. We need to hand these Jihadists a decisive military blow this time around.

We need President Obama to speak as the rightful leader of the Free World and tell the terrorists that we are coming to get them; and tell our friends and allies in Kurdistan and rest of Iraq that help is on the way – and mean it when he says it.

Otherwise we might just as well put Saddam’s ‘legendary’ spokesman, the ‘comical Ali’ in-charge of Baghdad and let him handle the situation.
