Fighting for the Right to Tell the Truth

Israel has begun a combat mission, which, according to every parameter satisfies the measure of a just war. As Israel has suffered twelve years of rockets and missiles, intentionally aimed at children, women, and the elderly, the state has every right to initiate a military mission to destroy this terror threat. After suffering inhumane attacks for a number of years, Israel has taken the decision to engage in surgical air strikes which utilize the most advanced technologies to prevent civilian casualties, focusing exclusively on preventing military capabilities.

Despite the just nature of this operation, Israel finds itself facing a public relations blitz of groups of experts in New York, Washington, Paris, Cairo, Istanbul, and other locations – a network of individuals who have no interest in the truth and are dedicated to spreading lies. This campaign, led by a coalition of Arab and Muslim countries and their supporters in the West, is attempting to hide the truth from various publics, preventing a rational, truth-based discussion on the relevant issues. Hamas’ terrorist abilities are supported by regional Arab and Muslim powers which provide funding, arms, missiles, and logistics to facilitate the smuggling of advanced weapons – as well as a public relations campaign to support terrorism in the public sphere.

Hamas’ terrorist abilities are supported by regional Arab and Muslim powers which provide funding, arms, missiles, and logistics to facilitate the smuggling of advanced weapons – as well as a public relations campaign to support terrorism in the public sphere.

An example of this miscarriage of justice was shown on Saturday night on CNN, in which the satellite news network organized a debate between a resident of Southern Israel and a resident of Gaza. The network falsely attempted to portray a picture of equivalency between the two sides. However, the truth is that while the Gazan has suffered from a certain level of disturbance to his life, despite the fact that the IDF has attempted to ensure that its strikes are surgical in nature, in contrast, the citizen of southern Israel has suffered from years of rocket attacks whose sole purpose is to injure and kill citizens. How can a respected network such as CNN network present this situation as equivalent?

Since the “Arab Spring”, new Islamic-based regimes provide support as well as public relations for terrorist organizations, as the Muslim Brotherhood does not allow for a debate based on the facts, but prefers to only spread poisonous propaganda. The leaders of two regional powers, Prime Minister of Turkey Erdogan and the Emir of Qatar Al-Thani, both vying for leadership of the Islamic world, each bring a specific arsenal to this propaganda war. Qatar’s established Al-Jazeera to create a new public opinion across the Arab world based on Muslim Brotherhood tinged propaganda, while Prime Minister Erdogan has erased Turkey’s secular-Western heritage in order to attempt to lead the Islamic world. Thus, both the leaders of Turkey and Qatar engage in unjustified attacks on Israel to advance their goals.

Today, in a world that has little interest in the facts, Israel has difficulty presenting the truth behind operation “Pillar of Defense”, in the face of a coalition that is solely interest in perpetrating lies.

Tomorrow, the world will wake up to a reality in which truth, justice, and human rights have no meaning, but become mere tools of propaganda. Thus, while the main goal of the operation is to restore the lives of its residents to normalcy, Israel is also fighting for the right to tell the truth, and to speak to those who are still able to listen.
