France Juive…Jewish France

There is a new Jewish nation in the world. It is France Juive…Jewish France.

Following the stabbing of a kippa-wearing Jew in Marseilles, the rabbi of Marseilles, Zvi Amar, urged all Jews to refrain from wearing a kippa in public and to switch to regular caps or hats.

This offended President Hollande of France who remarked that Jews must have the right to follow their religious traditions without fear and the wearing of a kippa was fundamental.

As a result, two non-Jewish members of the French parliament entered the chambers wearing kippot.

This sparked a social campaign throughout France called Tous Avec Une Kippa (Everybody with a kippa).

The campaign calls for all French citizens, male and female, to wear Jewish skullcaps under the motto “En France tout le monde est maintenant juive”… in France everyone is now a Jew.

It is a marvelous tribute to French Jewry. President Hollande has called upon France’s Jews to remain in France and not to emigrate. “A France without Jews would not be France”, he declared.

We welcome the support of France’s highest authorities. What a change we are seeing from the France of the Dreyfus Affair which gave birth to the Zionist movement 123 years ago.

The Chabad rabbi in Strasbourg bought one hundred kippot and stood on a street corner handing them out to any man or woman who requested one.

France has united with its Jewish communities and is making every effort to provide increased safety to Jewish schools and synagogues.

Schools are increasing lessons in tolerance for French pupils and the French clergy have denounced the anti-Semitic attacks against Jews mainly by individuals in the Muslim communities.

We are grateful to the people of France for upholding the rights of man and for defending the rights of their fellow Jewish citizens to wear the kjppa with pride.

Merci chers citoyens Francaise. Vive la Republique Francais.

Thank you dear citizens of France, Long live the French Republic, a symbol of democracy and unity for all its citizens.
