Grilled Chicken with Honey Pepper Barbecue Sauce

Here is a wonderful recipe for Shabbat. This is lightly smoked and filled with fabulous flavors. Make a lot of chicken because your family will want a lot. This recipe is wonderful warm or cold. So any leftovers can be served cold on Shabbat.

Grilled Chicken with Honey Pepper Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

2 (4 lbs. Each) Kosher Chickens cut into 8 pieces each

½ cup Honey Pepper Sauce (See the recipe in this blog.)
Salt and freshly Ground Black Pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat barbecue grill and add some soaked hickory chips.

Place the chicken into a large Zip Lock Bag and add about a half a cup of barbecue sauce and let the chicken marinate overnight. When your ready to grill bring the chicken up to room temperature by allowing it to rest outside the refrigerator for a couple of hours. When the grill is really hot and smoky sear the chicken directly on the fire for about a minute per side. Then grill using indirect heating for about 1 ½ hours until done. Baste the chicken once with the sauce from the bag on each side. Discard the remaining sauce that is in the Zip Lock bag.

Most importantly scrub the kids and put on your best dress. Tonight is the Sabbath and you are to keep it Holy. This really is your job. I doubt that your husband is as capable of doing this as you are. Make this and every Friday evening a very special Shabbat.

Light two candles and say a Blessing over the Candles. Say a Blessing over the Kosher Israeli Wine and Challah and especially Bless your children.

Serve with some fresh sauce on the side, a potato, pasta or rice, a fresh salad, a fresh vegetable, some fish, Challah, a good Kosher Israeli Wine and your ready for Shabbat All of this comes from Hashem but only you can make this night special.
