Tribute to Jason Rosenblatt and the Musicians He Brought Together for the Second Harmonica Festival in Jerusalem.

Harmonicas embraced and awakened Jerusalem,

Not only did Sleeping Beauty come alive;

Harmonicas brought Jazz, Blues and Classics to life in the Harmony Cultural Center

Of Jerusalem as the audience awoke from prosaic slumber

To rhythms, vibrations and sounds,

As melodies drifted and brought waves

From the deep American south to Harlem,

A jig from Quebec village squares,

And echoes of Paris during La Belle Epoque.

Middle Eastern notes drifted into melodies,

As the world became much smaller;

And horizons became much bigger,

Embracing history, embedded in sorrow

And joy, celebration and commemoration,

Arousing the spirit with a breath of life,

That gives the harmonica its living soul,

Music that enchants as it captures

Moments to be treasured in melodies,

Recalled as the sweep of emotions remains.
