Have some humility, preachers and advice-givers

I’ve noticed there are many so-called experts, analysts and appeasers issuing ex-cathedra statements from thousands of miles away about what Israel should and should not do and why.

”Ceasefire. Now.”

”Israeli terrorism.”

And so on.

US intelligence agencies, in particular, seem to enjoy pontificating, judging, holier-than-thou-ing, and giving not-always-solicited advice. Their track record with Hamas isn’t impressive. There’s no hostage deal, so, just maybe, these intelligence agencies and certain American politicians, in particular, but not only, ought to stay silent for moment or two? I believe that Israelis know best what needs to be done in their own backyard and how much escalation is acceptable. I’m in Warsaw, Poland and, as such, I don’t walk around telling someone thousands of miles away what to do, having the audacity to demand this, demand that and judging them for it without really seeing what’s going on over there.

I understand the Mossad – they are on the ground, they know the enemy inside out. I understand the IDF. But even the CIA, and others, please. Have a little humility. You’re not omniscient, no matter how clever you think you are, you’re not God. Besides, how would a ceasefire happen now, exactly? Seems to me, we’re at the stage where all of this just needs to play itself out.

If anything, it’s best to focus on the practical solutions, not just talking the same nonsense about ceasefires and suchlike. This isn’t reality on the ground anymore. You only need a modicum of logic to see it.

There’s this phrase in Polish. Brawo Ty, brawo ja. ”Bravo you, bravo me.” Basically, it encapsulates the spirit of the times. Way too many people think they are experts and the world is just eager to hear their opinions and advice on any topic you can imagine.

Too many self-important fools walking around while smart people are often humble and silent, shaking their heads at the mess we’re in. Some smile smugly at the clown show around them, others clench their fists, others pretend they are somewhere else. Others are glad they are on the way out to somewhere else.

Have your wits about you but don’t be paranoid. That’s the best approach.
