Hostage deal

It’s a bitter pill to swallow. Sometimes, as the expression goes, you can swallow it easier when you mix in some sugar or honey.

On the one hand, hostages will be freed. On the other hand, terrorists will be freed.

And as far as continuing the war, it’s an open question. It doesn’t seem clear at this point whether the war against Hamas will continue or not. Smotrich says that Netanyahu assured him that the war will continue; and Smotrich warned that if the war doesn’t resume after the first phase of the truce (which is forty-two days), he will leave the government.

Trump is president again, and it’s a bit unclear what he will do. Hopefully he will cooperate with Israel to destroy Hamas, to subdue the Houthis in Yemen once and for all, and to destroy Iran’s nuclear capability.

Hamas must be destroyed. Iran’s spread of terrorism must be stopped. Iran’s regime must be overturned. The Houthis in Yemen must be dealt with.

And they will be. Because we have the promise of G-d through his prophets, that in the end of days, evil will be removed from the world; and Amalek, the archenemy of Israel, which includes those determined to follow in the footsteps of Amalek, will be eradicated.

Because for the world to have peace, evil must be wiped off the face of the Earth.

In the end of days the world will become refined, nations will appreciate Israel’s contribution to world peace and prosperity.

In the end of days, the Temple, the third and final Beis Hamikdosh, will be rebuilt. It will last forever. And in this Temple, the Jewish people will serve G-d, and will light the menorah.

The light will emerge from the Temple and illuminate the entire world. It will be a physical light, but also a spiritual light, a light to the nations, a light that will teach nations of the world that G-d exists, and that by adhering to the seven Noahide laws that G-d told Moses at Mount Sinai, there will be peace and prosperity for all.

Evil is finished. Peace is here to stay. When will all this happen? If the current miracles taking place are any indication, perhaps very very soon.
