Israel PR and Tamimi

Of course she is a heroine to the Arab world. And I expect her soon to be visiting the USA on a lecture tour. University campuses will welcome her: UC Santa Cruz, UC Riverside, UC Berkelely, Univ of Washington Seattle, likely Yale, likely Harvard, NYU, Barnard, Brown, etc, etc.

She will be paid for this tour: travel, lodging, and honoraria. She will be interviewed on USA TV. Interviews with the NYTimes and the New Yorker are a near given.

Who will be her initial sponsors? I don’t know, but it will not surprise me if it includes Jewish-named “Progressive” groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace, doubtful that it will reach the Anti-Defamation League.

Could this have been foreseen? Yes, by everyone except Israel’s public relations office. What would have been a better penalty than imprisonment? A stiff financial fine on the family.

Israel hurts itself. The clumsy language in the Jewish Nation State, alienating the Druze, is the latest example. Israel is not Trump’s first priority and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party is slavering. It is disheartening.
