It’s about our country
This is about our country. it is not only about our security and elementary right to defend ourselves; it is about over legitimacy to live in our only home as all other nations. This is a difficult media battle which waging by groups seeking to present a false picture of the only Jewish state and in purpose to delegitimize Israel’s right to live in peace and security.
The good news is that in this case, we can all make a difference. In this battle, every voice matters.
In such days, which are easy for none of us, people around the world are fed in false information and a very not objective picture on the reality and the situation that has been going on for over 12 years.
This is not just a battle between good and bad, between a peaceful state and terrorist organizations. This is a battle on Israel’s right to defend itself; This is a battle on Israel’s duty to give its people security, quiet and normal life; This is a battle on the right of innocent civilians to live peacefully.
For 12 years, over 12,000 heavy mortars, rockets and grad rockets have been launched over Israel.
Students who can’t study fluently; mothers who can’t sleep at night; fathers who wait impatiently to get a call ensures their sons arrived at school; Big brothers look their little sisters waking up in the middle of the night in panic, hugging their Teddy Bear and running to shelter; teachers evacuating their students from class; cars stop driving and people getting out of the cars looking for a shelter – all these and more harm the lives of over 1 million innocent Israelis.
While accusing Israel in war crimes and aggressive actions, people have forgotten to mention that weapons are held in hospitals, kindergartens, mosques and more in the Gaza strip. Innocent civilians in the Gaza strip are being used by those terrorists who hide. Rockets are launched from civilian centers toward civilian centers in Sovereign Israel. Those terrorists are unequivocally responsible for the certain situation in the Gaza strip, as they harm the lives of innocent civilians from both sides.
Kindergartens are for children, not for weapons storage; Mosques are a sacred place for prayer, hospitals and more – are not places for weapons storage and hiding.
Those who say that Israel has led to a situation of escalating and prevented any possible solution, forgotten to mention that these terrorist organizations are extreme, and push into a corner any possibility for a peace agreement between the State of Israel and the Palestinian authority. They seemingly forget that Israel is the only state in the Middle East in which Arab women can serve in the Parliament, for instance. Israel is the only state where Arab women get the same rights such as men.
Today, more than ever, I am proud to be Israeli. I am proud to be a citizen of a country which fights against the terror in a restrained and prudent manner, a country which implements its natural right to exist and defend itself.
I am proud to be a citizen of the only country in the early modern period which has agreed to give up land for peace; the first state to send medical delegations when countries are hit by terrorists or natural disasters; and the only state which fights against terrorist organizations carefully and with such restraint to avoid killing innocent civilians.
Share a photo on your wall, spend a few moments talking to you friend abroad. Do it for your children, do it for your little brothers, do it for yourself.
When we all spread the truth together, no one will succeed in tarnishing Israel’s moral character.
