Liberated Iran can be a beacon of stability
A serious and significant, punitive response to Iran by the IDF is a matter of, likely short, time. Unlike Russia, where the population is zombified, living in its own Russian la-la land of imperial greatness like in some collective alternate reality, the Iranian society is young, energetic, smart, aware of what’s going on in the world and overwhelmingly despises the regime. Several Iranian women told me how absurd their hijab-policing is and how much they hate the whole social structure the regime had put in place. It would make anyone crazy and hateful of the regime.
Iran in 2024 isn’t the same Iran that so generously took in Polish refugees during the Second World War. For that, we Poles are grateful, and we know that the current regime is just an absurdist distortion of what Iran is really like.
The theocratic regime controlling Iran now isn’t Iran’s natural state, that of a proud and ancient civilization, and there are still millions of Iranians who remember a different Iran. There’s no centuries of slavery that makes it virtually impossible to even question the rulers like in Russia.
Iran has educated, smart and strong elites opposing the regime and ready to take power.
If there’s a nation on Earth that must have a regime change, it’s Iran. It ticks all the boxes. It’s not warmongering. It’s logic.
Those who say that the new government is going to be just a puppet of Israel, I believe Iran’s history is long enough and complex enough to avoid such scenarios. Persians are too proud to be anyone’s puppets and, as such, so many Iranians oppose the regime, risking death, because they don’t want to be the puppets of theocratic maniacs. By the way, all those who are such Russia fans, ask Iranians what happened to those groups that had helped Islamic fundamentalists grab the power in Iran. Hint: they outlived their usefulness and got killed.
Besides, there’s no time. I’m not a military expert but I know enough Sun Tzu, Clausewitz and others to suspect that Iran is either getting ready to use nukes or some other weapon of mass destruction (response not by conventional means). ABC. Atomic, as far as we know, Iran doesn’t have the capability. But chemical or biological? For sure. All it would take are drones flying over Israel with some kind of a delivery system to spread a deadly virus, chemicals, whatever, and you’ve got a calamity on your hands.
It’s not warmongering. There’s just no time for diplomacy anymore and IDF knows it.
