Making it personal is easily misguided and abusive

Stop making villains or heroes out of politicians or rabbis

The Torah does its best to portray the Prophets, from Adam to Moses, as relatable so we may identify with them.

How different from Greek idols and the saints of the New Testament that were way above us mortals.

In Western history and politics, all who counted were the ‘important’ (entitled) guys and occasional baddies. The lives of the common folks hardly registered.

The big screen added superheroes and antiheroes. Men had to be insensitive like a rock and simultaneously soft like a baby. Then came the small screen. The Beatles were worshiped.

And so, embedded in our awareness lies the lie that it’s all personal. The fate of a country lies in the hands of the leader.

Gone were ideas, principles, and goals. Vote for the right person, and they’ll take care of us. And when things go wrong, we’ll have someone to blame. And that’s all nonsense.

No one is irreplaceable. Some good people can speed things up in the right direction, but they too are children of their time.

Trump is immaterial. Stop trying to kill him. The authors of Project 2025 don’t matter. Even its financiers are unimportant.

We don’t need to compete trashing or idolizing politicians or sort out who are the worst victims and villains. Hatred doesn’t help.

Invading politicians‘ and judges’ privacy threatens democracy.

And the leaders who are criticized and their followers should use the mantra: ‘We’re not under attack; we are not the issue.’ Pointing out that someone is spreading lies is not to embarrass him. It’s to clarify the truth.

The only things that matter are preserving democracy and more social security for the common person. Vote for those who want to promote that over pro-bigotry or anti-equality.

Play the argument, not the man! And when someone said something wicked (or saintly), that doesn’t cancel (or justify) all else he’ll say.

Compare: “Hate the sin, not the sinner” (Talmud, Berachot 10a).

But what if someone is incompetent? Then it’s OK to show such proof to those who should appoint or elect him. But for the rest: Stop slandering, blaming, hating, and inciting against people.

However, if you think those are his absolute top priorities, you might end up disappointed. His first loyalty is to the truth. He will try to stay within the limits of democratic and Jewish law, but he won't lie to support opinions or people when don't deserve that. This short list doesn't mean to disrespect others who taught him a lot or a little. One of his rabbis calls him Mr. Innovation [Ish haChidushim]. Yet, his originalities seem to root deeply in traditional Judaism, though they may grow in unexpected directions. In fact, he claims he's modernizing nothing. Rather, mainly basing himself on the basic Hebrew Torah text, he tries to rediscover classical Jewish thought almost lost in thousands of years of stifling Gentile domination and Jewish assimilation. (He pleads for a close reading of the Torah instead of going by rough assumptions of what it would probably mean and before fleeing to Commentaries.) This, in all aspects of life, but prominently in the areas of Free Will, Activism, Homosexuality for men, and Redemption. * He hopes that his words will inspire and inform, and disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed. He aims to bring a fresh perspective rather than harp on the obvious and familiar. When he can, he loves to write encyclopedic overviews. He doesn't expect his readers to agree. Rather, original minds should be disputed. In short, his main political positions are among others: anti-Trumpism, for Zionism, Intersectionality, non-violence, anti those who abuse democratic liberties, anti the fake ME peace process, for original-Orthodoxy, pro-Science, pro-Free Will, anti-blaming-the-victim, and for down-to-earth, classical optimism, and happiness.
