Moses Intercedes in Humility – Torah Portion Ki Tisa

Moses Intercedes in Humility

Torah Portion Ki Tisa

The degradation of the golden calf

Led to G-d’s vow to destroy the people.

Moses intercedes in humility

For God’s compassion, to absolve the vow.

Moses asks G-d to rather erase his name

From the annals of events in the Torah.

God listens to Moses, his confidant’s plea;

And manifests Divine humility.

To walk in G-d’s ways is to forgive

And to show compassion to the people,

Who repent and have remorse for their acts;

And begin anew, who they are meant to be.

The test still continues, are we, who we

Are to be, for the future to unfold…

Before too long, for all that is foretold?
