No Trump

I just can’t get him out of my mind. It seems to me totally insane that any Americans actually support the candidacy of  Donald Trump. I can’t find anything of merit in his candidacy at all. Absolutely nothing. And the thought of his having his finger on the nuclear button is terrifying.

When I hear that a few of my fellow Jews are supporting him, as some actually are, I am incredulous. Why?

Now, I’m not a reporter from the so called liberal press. I’m just a grandmother praying that my grandchildren can grow up and old in a blessed land, be it Israel or the US. Donald Trump is not the man for that dream fulfillment.

Like just about everyone in the world I do watch TV.  And I watch Trump’s juvenile behavior and I cannot believe that he actually gets away with what a fifth grader would be disciplined for.

He’s petty, vain, hopelessly egotistical and unable to deal with criticism. Those are his good qualities!

He hates minorities and repeatedly makes defamatory remarks about them.  He insults war dead, war heroes, judges, and those with physical deformities.

He calls people liars, cheaters, low energy, and a litany of other childish insults.

His knowledge of world affairs is limited to what he sees on TV.

He is unsophisticated to a truly shocking degree.

His ability to tell the truth, never, is totally without equal.

And where are his income tax returns anyway? What is hidden inside them?

I am so very tired about hearing about Hillary’s issues. She’s not the perfect candidate but she’s clearly the one eyed in the land of the blind. And let’s not forget that Bill, probably one of the 20th century’s great presidents, is part of the Hillary package.

I know a story about Bill Clinton that the world doesn’t know. Since it’s a story related to one Jewish family I leave it to them to reveal it to the world if they so choose. Suffice to say, the Bill Clinton in this story reveals himself as a compassionate mensch. And a very private one at that.

Can anyone say the same for Trump? That he’s a mensch? Of course not. He boasts about his wheeling and dealing which helps no one except himself. How many victims of his disgusting business deals have to come forward? How many students of Trump University? How many small business operators who’ve been cheated? How many tenants who’ve been treated unfairly because of their race?

Recently I bought a blouse that had an Ivanka Trump label. I’m not very happy with the way it’s holding up but that’s not the point. The point is that it’s made in China. All clothing bearing any Trump labels is made overseas. Is that what he means by making America great again?

This man is, to quote Donald Trump, a total disaster.  And what I fear most is that some of you may realize that and not vote for him, but will also not vote for Hillary. It is incumbent on all of us to vote for Hillary. Otherwise you are, de facto, voting for Trump.

Friends, you must vote.  If you are an American living in Israel, you must vote absentee.  If you are a college student, you must vote absentee. You must vote. The future of our two beloved countries depends on your vote. And if you feel HIllary will disappoint, then, in four years, you may choose again. If Trump is elected, I seriously fear that, in four years, our countries will have ceased to exist.
