Obama Administration Poised to Profane the Memory of Terror Victims

In a move revealed yesterday by Fox News, the Obama administration is considering stepping in to thwart a recent US court decision against the Palestinian Authority and the PLO.

Eleven American families were party to a lawsuit against the PLO and the PA for having murdered and/or maimed their loved ones over a period of many years. Families such as the Carter family who lost their daughter, Dina in the Hebrew U cafeteria bombing. Or the family of Benjamin Blutstein, who was also killed in that blast.  And then there is the family of Shayna Gould. Shayna, who was merely 19 at the time of the blast, was seriously injured in a shooting spree in Jerusalem.

These families and others were party to this landmark lawsuit.

Gould, a suburban Chicago woman, then a 19-year-old college student, was standing at a bus stop during a driving rainstorm when a gunman began spraying pedestrians with an M-16. Two women were killed in the attack, more than 40 others were wounded, and Gould had no vital signs when she arrived at a Jerusalem hospital.  (NBC News)

And, as reported by Fox News: Eleven American families won a $218.5 million judgment in February after a seven-week trial in Manhattan Federal Court in which a jury found the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Authority were responsible for a string of attacks from 2001 to 2004 that killed 33 and injured hundreds. A 1992 law that requires damages in such cases to be tripled, as well as interest on the award, would push it to as much as $1.1 billion. The judgment, which the “Palestinians” are appealing, would equal nearly a third of the Palestinian Authority’s annual operating budget.

The Department of Justice informed the court it was considering filing a “statement of interest” in the case by Aug. 10th. In a move heavily criticized by John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, the USDOJ, by inserting itself into this case, would in effect be supporting terror.

In what world is it okay for the US government to step in on a case to attempt to set aside a judgment, ESPECIALLY when that judgment found TERRORISTS guilty of murder of US citizens!? Why does the Obama administration think it is appropriate to try and quash payments to survivors of PA- and PLO-funded terrorist acts? It should be noted that these same terror organizations have named city squares after some of their “shahids” (martyrs) who murdered these and other individuals! It is these same terror organizations who make monthly payments to the families of those who have murdered Jews — with extra payments made to families, whose “loved ones” sit in jail.

It has been noted that due the the extremely high monetary award that the court decided for the plaintiffs, this huge sum of money could bankrupt the PA.

Wait…wait just a minute.

The fact that monetary damages awarded to AMERICAN citizens would lead to the bankruptcy of the PA is a potential reason for the USDOJ to step in? You want to talk about bankruptcy?! The PA has been the recipient of BILLIONS of dollars since the days of arch-terrorist, Yasser Arafat (may his name be erased forever). How much of that money has gone to build hospitals, schools, roads, work initiatives and other vital social programs so desperately needed by the “Palestinians”? The only reason that there are “Palestinians” in so-called refugee camps is because it serves a political purpose to paint their people as oppressed and in such need. Yet, when the world is duped to open its collective pocketbook and plunks down money with the PA leaders…what happens to all that money? Instead of the above-mentioned social needs of the PA’s constituency being met, money is given to terrorists; it is used to shoot Shayna and murder Benjamin; it is used to glorify martyrdom in schools; it is used to bash Israel; pay women to disrupt Har Habayit, etc., etc.

So, now that a US court has found that the PA and the PLO did in fact fund, organize, foster, foment and support terror acts, such as the ones in this lawsuit…the jig is up. But, wait, the Obama administration is mulling over an idea to insinuate itself into that decision?!

Why…why…was providing BILLIONS of dollars to the world’s main supporter of terror (Iran) not enough? Now, they feel they need to shore up a flailing and failing PA administration by ensuring that they will not need to pay the families of their victims and thus potentially find themselves bankrupt.

Mr Obama, I hate to break the news to you: The PA and PLO have been bankrupt since the day they were founded. They are morally, ethically and objectively bankrupt.

Please, Mr President, enough is enough! In the name of Shayna and in the name of Dina and Benjamin and all of the other victims, I implore you. Do not support terror. Do not spit on the graves of those murdered by the PLO and the PA! Please do not profane the memory of those who were murdered.
