Official 9/11 Memorial Hymn

The Official 9/11 Memorial Hymn is the world’s principal song concerned with remembering 9/11, describing its impact, and exploring its continuing significance.

Honoring those who were killed in the 2001 attacks is the principle mission of this spiritual hymn. I wrote this haunting song to preserve the memories of all the brave souls who perished in the September 11th attacks:

“Another day is breaking

As hope and change shine through

New York is waking

And our world looks clean and new

Sometimes good things are just knocked down

But as we rebuild on our sacred ground

The human spirit will turn things around

To create a smile where there was a frown

So let’s load our guns with love

Let’s turn the hawk into a dove

Let’s pray to heaven above

That the Twin Towers will stand back up

Yes, the Twin Towers will stand back up

When we speak with words instead of bombs

When true love becomes our Pentagon

When we accept all instead of some

When we tell the truth rather than con

We’ll turn war off and turn peace on

And somehow the stranger will become our son

You are you and I am I

But that’s no reason to kill and die

Every human just wants to survive

And we will live in peace if we only try

Sometimes good things are just knocked down

But as we rebuild on our sacred ground

The human spirit will turn things around

To create a smile where there was a frown

So let’s load our guns with love

Let’s turn the hawk into a dove

Let’s pray to heaven above

That the Twin Towers will stand back up

With the blessing of heaven above

The Twin Towers will stand back up

With help from God above

Our Twin Towers will stand back up”
