Oh’ New Middle East

My enemy’s enemy is kind of my friend

If there are some people who have not yet realized this, Islam, Moslems, Islamism, Islamists, jihad and the like terms are in vogue these days, becoming more “popular,” mentioned more often and their actions are viewed every day.

If there are some people who have not yet understand this, we, the people, do not control the government we elect, they control us and thus never tell us the truth, rather, what they think they know to be the truth and what they want us to know. Moslem countries are mostly ruled by autocratic government, are poor in following the law and tell their people even less of what we call the truth.

There is only one democracy in the Middle East and it is the State of Israel. More so, the country is a member of the developed countries, which none of her surrounding Moslem-Arab countries can claim to be. Israeli society fabric includes a large Moslem population minority, carrying Israeli citizenship. The study of Islam and Islamism is highly cognoscente in Israel and, as things seem to be from this writer’s point of view, Israel will become the “Mecca of truth” for anything that has to do with Islam and Islamism and its creeping passage into the midst of the West. Many Israelis’ roots originate in Arab countries and thus they speak Arabic and Israel has been fighting Islam all her 67 years as a sovereign state. What other Western country has all the right components to be the heart of learning, understanding and knowing how to work and interact with Islam and Islamism? There is NONE!

One such leading center is the Moshe Dayan Center (MDC) for Middle Eastern and African Studies at Tel-Aviv University, Israel. a Center that has a national impact on the public discourse and policies in Israel.

Israel just ended a 51 days war with the Hamas Islamists in Gaza. As a free country, post war studies, effects and conclusion will be conducted and deduced from this war so that Israel can be better prepared for the future, which no doubt will bring about another war. That is because Israel is surrounded by countries that have one goal in mind, which is to make do with the existence of the Jewish State in their midst.

This week, Professor Uzi Rabi, the Director of MDC, delivered a poignant lecture to the audience of American Friends of Tel-Aviv University (AFTAU) at the home of Sonya and Howard Waldow, in Beverly Hills California. What the professor had to say is an eye opener to all those in the Western world who prefer to remain closed eyes to the world’s new reality.

“The Middle East is changing rapidly,” Professor Rabbi started his lecture. “The USA, as a super power, is seen in the region as a giant in retreat and ISIS is challenging the Middle East map. The Chinese, the Russians are there and there is a change of the guard and players. There is that question, who will you side with as the Mideast super power? The West is trapped in ideals vs. interests, but not Russia, nor China. Since Obama has said, over and over again, that he will not put boots on the ground that leaves the Islamists with some strategic thoughts. It is a complicated region, entrenched in convoluted state of affairs and there is an immediate need to diagnose the situation and come up with some solutions.”

The Arab Spring changed the entire Middle East and has turned it into first time war between religion and state. The Arab Spring brought about opportunity for the religion to trump, and for the breaking up of states, where now there is no Syria, no Iraq, hardly any Lebanon, as we knew them, and other countries in the Middle East are going through statehood meltdown. The artificially created states by Britain, after WWI, that lacked any consideration for the ethnicity of the population are breaking down and the vacuum is being filled by Islamists.

The definition of Islamist, opposed to a Moslem, is that an Islamist is a Moslem who uses his/her religion for power and political gain.

A remapping of the Middle East is taking shape nowadays and there are no real boundaries. In Jordan, one-out of-five is a Syrian refugee. In Lebanon one-out of-seven is an Iraqi refugee. Time immemorial identities have come alive. Ethnic groups the world has not heard of are now making a comeback. The Yazidis, the Kurds, the Druze, the Alawites, and others are making the news.

What happened?

The artificial states did not manage to make their countries a melting pot and thus identities are breaking away to their ethnic groups where they are comfortably homorganic. It is the primordial theatre of identity looking for its own cove instead of belonging to a general nation state.
What do the Islamists want?
Their goal is an Islamic caliphate, a region with Islamic sameness polity. Their thinking and goals are different from the West and unless the West begins thinking what they are thinking, get into their heads, they have lost the battle right there.

There are also the two sentinels to consider, Iran and Turkey, both think that they are to lead Islamic hegemony in the Middle East.

As for Israel…

It is a psychological fight and that is what Israel fought in the last Protective Edge War in Gaza. The fight with how the opponent thinks and how to overcome it.

If Israel plays her card right, and that takes much wisdom, patience and humbleness, it seems that some Arab lands will act along the enemy of my enemy is my kind of friend and new unprecedented alliances will be formed in the Middle East in which Israel will play a major central role.

Professor Rabi made some suggestions:

Israel to be pro-active on the Middle East, as a set if new definitions and rules take place. She must be steadfast and use iron fist; she must use shrewdness, sophistication, smartness and be resourceful and the professor is sure she can position herself well, as new engine’s rhythm is moving the Middle East.

“Over the years Israel always looked over the mountains to form alliance with countries located in the Middle East region periphery,” explains Professor Rabi. For instance, Kurdistan and Azerbaijan, both made of Moslem majority offering religious freedom and are leaning toward the West. While Israel has strong ties with Azerbaijan, she has now officially recognized Kurdistan and when this ethnic group applies to become a sovereign state, which it will, Israel will vote in support of its formation.

ISIS has no relevance to the broken states and continents. What they want to do is to demoralize the world with terrorism. Israel must recognize that ISIS shuffled the cards in the region and she has to learn fast how to play and swim there.

On the Protective Edge-Solid Rock War:

Prime Minister Netanyahu managed the conflict as it used to be, ignoring that it is no longer the old conflict. He did not see beyond it. He should have never declared a “quiet for quiet” approach. Hamas do not understand such term. Instead, Israel should immediately start a campaign, and show she is serious about it, at its ending point Hamas needs to disappear. When terrorist groups such as ISIS and Hamas see indecisiveness they understand that the slogan “Speak softly and carry a big stick” ~ Theodore Roosevelt, in reality it is speak loudly and carry a small stick.
“There is no room for compromise,” says Professor Rabi. “According to the Islamist Hamas Israel has no right to exist and that needs to resonate with Israel all the time. Therefore, Israel must improve her survival policy and use an army of diplomats, trained in the enemy’s language and have all the tools needed for a rough diplomatic war against her enemies, which Mahmoud Abbas is about to launch vigorously, soon.”

There is an ironic joke among Arabs carrying Israeli citizenship:

In the situation created in the Middle East by the Arab Spring, the only place where a Hamas supporter Ra’ed Salah’s Islamic Movement, founded in Umm el-Fahm, a large Arab Israeli city, could operate freely is the State of Israel. Places like Egypt, where official policy and objectives were similar to those of this Islamic Movement in Israel, the kind movement – Moslem Brotherhood – had been outlawed and its leaders thrown in jail, and some had been executed.

In the 21st Century, the entire world is facing an Islamist problem that will be left for our children and grandchildren to solve. If we do not start helping them now, our children and grandchildren may not be able to solve this problem later.

In summation, all who are worried about his or her inalienable rights, or their children and grandchildren’s freedoms and life, should watch this 2 hours video: The Muslim Agenda – Full Movie Documentary

(Published on Sep 23, 2013, by NBT the movie exposes the shocking truth about Islam, it’s incompatibility with western ideals and it’s cult-like ideology. The contents of the film exposes the evil verses and teachings taken directly from the Quran and Hadiths and demonstrates its sick doctrine of hate, gender inequality, intolerance of homosexuals, anti-Semitism, racial discrimination and permission for Moslem men to indulge in sex slavery, child rape and molestation.)

The new Middle East “normal” has turned itself on its head.
