OH the hashtags..

Today, I noticed a hashtag on Twitter. It was referencing a Jewish state of the Levant and saying Israel is like ISIS. At first, I ignored it because it was just another case of Anti Semites being stupid. Then, I got angry. ISIS has done some of the most horrific acts I have ever heard of. To compare Israel, a beautiful multicultural country to ISIS, is insane.

ISIS sells women and children into slavery, sexual and otherwise. These women no longer have any say so in their life. They are forced to marry their captors and can be treated horribly. Israel does not do this.

ISIS buries people alive. Men, women and children are left to slowly suffocate. I cannot imagine how that must be. The thought of is makes me weep. Israel does not do this.

ISIS subscribes to a particular sect of Islam. If you do not believe in that particular sect, you don’t have a right to live. You can convert or be killed. Well, unless you are Kurdish, then it does not matter what you believe, you will be killed. Again, Israel does not do this.

The people using that hashtag are comparing what ISIS does to Israel. They don’t look at the population make up or they say “oh Israel is lying about how many people are non Jewish”. They don’t look at the Arabic (NON JEWISH) members of the Knesset. They don’t look at all the freedoms that Israelis have. They hate. And they hate Israel for one reason: JEWS. They are just like the people who claim to be “anti Israel” while shouting “Death to Jews”. Just like the people who claim to be “Anti Israel” and firebomb a synagogue in Kiev. You know..your garden variety, everyday Anti Semite. They can try to hide behind a cute little hashtag, but they are what they are. And what they are is what we all must fight against: HATE.
