Orange Man Good

If President Donald Trump’s new administration were a musical composition it would be Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony.”

There is no other way to describe it.

He was inaugurated on January 20.

He delivered a transformative speech outlining his administration’s plans for the future.

Within hours, he signed 42 executive orders, which included securing the border, abolishing Divest, Equity and Diversity departments and programs in the military and federal agencies, quitting the Paris Climate Accords and Iran Deal.

Watching Trump is like watching a thoroughbred race horse run the track.

He was built for this.

On Friday, January 24, he visited both North Carolina, still reeling from the aftereffects of September, 2024 Hurricane Helene and Los Angeles devastated by a cataclysmic fire. He inspected the areas hardest hit and designating them disaster zones, unleashed billions of gallons of reservoir water previously blocked by California.

The next week, he announced that he was going to revoke the 1979 Panama Canal treaty due to Panama’s violations. Panama then said it would not renew its contract with China and gave American naval ships free passage.

It is difficult to rest wondering what Trump will do next.

He threatened 25% tariffs against Mexico and Canada for their failure to stop illegal aliens from entering the US. Both nations agreed to fund troops on their borders to prevent unlawful entry and reduce human and drug trafficking.

Next, he signed executive orders withdrawing the US from the WHO and UNRWA.

He recognized unchecked antisemitism on college campuses.

He is dismantling USAID. The Department of Education is next.

I saw Trump last weekend at Mar-a-Largo. He was dining with a group of 10. He was engaged, animated, booming. The overhead speakers played the Village People’s “YMCA” and people stood, swayed and clapped.

He is in DC today, meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

For many of us, cringing since Obama’s “You didn’t built that!” hope is back.

This time, it is accompanied by a belief that America will once again act and be seen as a compassionate, just, and strong world leader.
