Parshat Devarim – דברים

Confronting the Paranoia of Sichon and Og –
Just before the Israelites could enter the Promised Land,
they encountered the menacing resistance of the
fearsome Giants – Sichon and Og.
G-d told Moses not to be afraid of them and push forward.
(Deut 2 & 3)
We can learn from this that just before we are about
to achieve a major elevation in prayer and Torah study,
we should anticipate the resistance of the Giants
our evil inclination יצר הרע
and only trust in G-d’s promise and push forward.
