Percentages

The poll-takers are very active. Stopping people on the streets of our cities they ask for an opinion of the results of the recent election even though we have only 98% of the votes.

It was of immense interest to me to note the views of the Israeli public. From them I think we are on the verge of the coming of the promised messiah… yavo mashiach, yavo.

51% of Likud voters and 90% of Blue and White voters expressed feelings which have not been heard in such numbers before.

In the USA and in all the Christian countries in Europe, South America and Africa (excluding Muslim countries) there are laws which require the separation of religion from state. Civil law, not religious law, are the way of most of the world.

For an unknown reason, in 1948 Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion opened his hands (too freely) to the orthodox and ultra-orthodox and those hands handed the religious zealots their requests on a silver platter. Israel has no separation of religion and state. We are prisoners of medieval zealots.

Some of those ultra-orthodox and Hassidic Jewish citizens in Israel do not even recognize the very State in which they live. They take everything that benefits them from the State which they do not recognize and in return they give us absolutely nothing except anguish and aggravation.

Not Neturai Karta alone, who raised the white flag of surrender in May 1948 to the Jordanian soldiers who had conquered east Jerusalem. Those Jews preferred to live in a Muslim country rather than in the Jewish homeland. They were supported by other non-Zionist/anti-Zionist zealot groups.

It was therefore a nice shock to me to learn that 51% of Likud voters and 90% of Blue and White voters want a national unity government, but one without any ultra-orthodox in the government !

In the August Smith poll, 64% of Israeli Jews were opposed to ultra-orthodox Jews in the government. They want democracy in place of zealous theocracy.

Furthermore, in an effort to decrease the powers of the Chief Rabbinate, 71% of Labor voters, 94% of Yisrael Beiteinu voters, 93% of voters in the Democratic Union, and 60% of Likud voters are in support of civil marriages in Israel.

In addition to the anticipated arrival of the messiah, 72% of the non-orthodox Israeli voters backed public transportation on Shabbat ! (Hush…I think I hear the hooves of the white horse on which the messiah will ride. Baruch Ha ba b’shem Adonai. Welcome, in the name of God.)

It was, of course, no surprise that the ultra-orthodox politicians rejected their proposed exclusion from the seats in the Knesset. In racial retaliation, the ultra-orthodox group recommended the exclusion of the Druze and Ethiopians from seats in the government. For some reason known only to them there was no similar exclusion mentioned of the Israeli-Arab members in government.

Today, Prime Minister Netanyahu is fighting the fight of his life. He has hired two new lawyers at the cost of several million dollars to prevent him from a guilty verdict and possible imprisonment.

In pre-war Poland, the Polish government treated its Jewish population like stinking garbage. Netanyahu is now treating the 21 % of our Arab population in the same way. Whoever handles garbage has unclean hands. Bibi cannot wash away his filth. It will follow him to the grave.

The messiah only shakes his head. He speaks only one single word… “manyakim”.

As for Netanyahu’s future relationship with the American president, Donald Trump, the path is less smooth.

According to Rex Tillerson, the ex-Secretary of State in the Trump administration, Netanyahu has consistently lied to President Trump, providing him with mis-information and false information in order to obtain American favors, financially and military.

Trump is not a fool. Bibi will learn the hard way. The loss of his “best friend” and a removal of the welcome mat at the doorstep of the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue will be the big pain that he will have to swallow and to endure.

As the percentages continue to increase for a unity government without Bibi’s multi ultra-orthodox supporters, he will have many more sleepless nights. For the present moment, it seems that we may have to go to another election…the third this year… something unheard of in the past. And what if the results are the same? Will there be a fourth election? When will our circus tire of this nonsense and surrender to the will of the public? The world is laughing at us.

I asked the messiah what he recommended to ease Bibi’s pain.

He replied “He should first get rid of Sarah and then he should take as many Acamol pills as he needs. And I think he will need many. Yes. Many”.
