Predictions
Who will win? Can we predict the future? Is there a way to know what will happen?
Israel is surrounded by many enemies. Nations of the world wouldn’t hesitate to attack those who attack them, yet they condemn Israel for doing just that.
Antisemitism has, for many years, lurked in the shadows, but now the antisemites are coming out of their closets. When things are clear, we can deal with them.
As Daniel, who predicted Messianic times, writes: “Things will become clarified and whitened.” (Book of Daniel 12; 10) When that happens, when we can clearly see negative traits within ourselves and in others, then we are able to fix those things.
Daniel saw numerous visions of the time of Redemption. In chapter seven he describes winds of the heavens that stir up the Great Sea, and four beasts emerge — The Mediterranean Sea is often referred to as the ‘Great Sea.’ So Daniel might be describing World War Two, which was mainly fought in Europe and North Africa, which are lands that surround the Mediterranean Sea.
And the four beasts seem to perfectly match Germany, Russia, Britain and the U.S., the main protagonists of those battles.
The first beast: A lion with eagle’s wings, the wings were plucked, the lion was made to stand like a person, and it was given a human heart — Germany’s blitzkrieg warfare quickly conquered land, but they lost, and Germans were reeducated to be more humane.
The second beast: A bear stood to one side, with three ribs in its mouth, and they told it to arise and eat much meat — The Russian bear stood on one side during the Cold War as it ‘ate’ and controlled other countries, and it still stands on the other side (opposite Nato countries) as it ‘eats’ and invades Ukraine.
The third beast: A leopard with four wings and four heads, and it was given dominion — Britain fought tenaciously like a leopard; British pilots flew in all four directions battling the enemy; Britain has four leadership heads (Queen, Prime Minister, and two Houses of Parliament), and it was victorious.
The fourth beast is exceedingly fearsome and strong, with huge iron teeth that ate and crushed, and it trampled the rest with its feet. It had ten horns; then a small horn emerged and three previous horns were plucked out before it; this small horn had eyes like human eyes, and a mouth that spoke grandiosely; then Daniel saw the ‘Ancient of Days’ (G-d) with rivers of fire before Him and myriads of angels near Him; He was sitting and judging, and because of the small horn’s words the beast was slain and thrown to the fire — The U.S. defeated Germany and then dropped two atomic bombs in Japan, crushing whole cities; in subsequent years America’s footprint and influence were imposed worldwide. After WW2 the U.S. had ten presidents who served at least one full term. Then came Trump, who was ‘smaller’ in the sense that he had no previous prestigious government position; but he was elected because he was able to see things the way the populace saw it, and he talked in grandiose terms. He berated three previous presidents (Clinton, Bush, Obama). Then, because of Trump’s words, a crowd was motivated to protest at the Capitol (which symbolized the bastion of American power), which they overran, causing politicians to hide. Thus America was humiliated. The country is now in the process of refining and finding itself, just as metals are refined by fire.
Then Daniel saw in the visions of the night, one who looked like a person, being brought, with the clouds of heaven, before the Ancient of Days, and he was given dominion, honour, and kingship over all the nations, forever. Later in the chapter, an angel explains that this eternal rulership will be given to the ‘high holy ones.’ — Indeed Israel, led by holy people who fear G-d above, now rule, as Israel’s army continues to destroy Hamas, despite the world’s demand to ceasefire. And, in order to prevent escalation, Western powers and Arab states are being forced to use their militaries to defend Israel.
These are monumental times. Daniel’s prophecy seems to be playing out. Redemption with Moshiach is very close, when all the nations will be grateful to Israel for destroying evil, and when “The entire world will be filled with the knowledge of G-d, just as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11; 9)
May it happen very soon.
