Ready to scream
I know things are bad when friends and family write me with one sentence, as if I did not know. “Can’t you get rid of him?” “See what he’s done now!”
Honestly, I’d like this blog post to be one long scream:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggggggg ggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Alexander! Ariel! Arbel! David! Doron! Naama! Yousef! Hamza! Shlomo! Daniela! Matan! Eli! Edan! Matan! Eitan! Yair! Keith! Omri! Om er! Itzhak! Nimrod! Tsachi! Yarden! Karina! Shiri! Kfir! Ziv! Gali! Ariel! Ofer! Omri! Liri! Ori! Almog! Idan! Omer! Yosef! Avinatan! Eden! Guy! Eitan! Alon! Maxim! Hersh! Segev! Romi! Bar! Elya! Elkana! Rom! Omer! Evyatar! Carmel! Ohad! Tal! Sagui! Your government has forsaken you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll scream with the families who stood at the Gaza border yesterday and yelled to their loved ones in the hopes that someone would hear. We’re so sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll wail aloud with the ones who are now railing against the latest cabinet decision.
Because just hours earlier, so the news reports (leaked from a cabinet meeting in which the members had supposedly signed NDAs) told us, Bibi outright said, in so many words, he was going to forego the lives of the hostages in order to insist on holding on to a worthless strip of God-forsaken desert. That is, he forced the cabinet, at 2:00 am, to vote on a decision that the Philadelphi corridor between Gaza and Egypt is non-negotiable. Only Yoav Gallant, who is the sole cabinet minister with a conscience, apparently, and Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is helping our enemies to accuse us of genocide (and thought the proposed map of our land grab was not broad enough), voted no.
This way madness lies, as another ruler who was bat-shit crazy said. His play was a profound tragedy, and the drama that is playing itself out at the moment is no less a heartbreaking drama of Shakespearean proportions. And, like Lear, he’s getting ready to banish any advisers who dare to speak the truth, preferring the liars.
Even as Biden’s hand-picked negotiating team need us to agree to the settlement they have proposed, the pundits tell us that Bibi is counting on Trump winning the American election in November and, in January, backing any twisted plans he has cooked up. That sort of strategy has backfired on him spectacularly in the past, but he keeps thinking he can do the same thing and get a different result. Assuming Trump is even elected, this is the guy who called Bibi a loser, who is totally unpredictable and who got us to this point, in part, by calling off the Iran nuclear deal and giving power to the hawks there.
By January, of course, if things go the way Bibi’s planned, we’ll be engaged in all-out war on every border, listening for sirens day and night and mourning the preventable loss of even more lives.
HAVE YOU ALL LOST YOUR HEADS???????????????
Do we need to see this tragedy out to its very end, or can we put a stop to it before it goes all the way to its illogical, terrible limit? I, for one, have had it. I’m ready to stop the play before the final act. My friends and family are right. He’s got to go.
Ennnnoooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Really. We’ve had enough. Bibi has shown us the lie by speaking the truth, for once, in a secret meeting. Now we need someone who will speak the truth to us and work toward the hostage/ceasefire deal the country wants, needs and deserves.
