Same Story, Different Time
As we’ve made it clear, the political ups and downs that pundits and opinion writers speak about nowadays have been around for centuries. Each and every civilization has had its political differences. These discussions have been the reason for change throughout the world for generations. Nothing we speak of now is news; rather, it is the examples and stories that are different in each country, but they all lead us to the same conclusions. The treachery of the past was all they talked about so many years ago, and it is the stories of today that we speak of. The scandal of the past was when word got out that the Spartan senator took a bribe from the Persians—oh wait, the same things are still happening today. Then again, has there ever been a political scandal that involved pets being eaten?
It seems as though the people in the midst of these stories are so engulfed by their position, stance, and ego. Their decisions are like the ones kids make in school: “If nobody finds out, I’ll be fine.” They spend their time involved in their actions and have no capacity to think of others while they’re doing it. Their ego drives them blindly, and the worst is when they still think that they’ve done the right thing. They peddle their influence to other countries, take payment in many forms, and build their substantial wealth on the backs of their innocent neighbors. So many who have reached levels of power have fallen into corruption, and in each country throughout every time in history, when the truth came to light, they were removed, deposed, or both.
When reflecting upon history and connecting it to our current events, it sometimes feels like satire. We see a president of a country nowadays falling for the same traps the emperor was ultimately killed for. It’s like, “Dude, wake up! Haven’t you been to history class?” But what does history have to do with someone who is driven forward by their own ego? It is precisely those people who have created so many bedtime stories of the evil dying in the end. Yes, we understand that not every story has a happy ending, but if you give it some more time and see it from other perspectives, you may find out that there is an underlying message that spans much larger than the few words in the picture book.
We inherently root for the good guy and despise the bad guy. Well, you may tell me, “Aren’t there people somewhere who invert those values and raise their children to be martyrs for their cause?” That’s a good question, but have you ever met someone who thinks fire would be good for growing crops? Or have you ever seen a fisherman fishing with poisonous bate? All people, no matter what education they received or what upbringing they’ve experienced, will choose a life of joy over a life of misery and sadness. Who in the world would be willing to bring death and destruction upon themselves? Yes, we may go out to war, which would translate into some instability, but only for the cause of a brighter and more pleasant future.
Only psychotic individuals would give up the gift of life. Life is an opportunity to learn and grow. Each person’s individual story brings along their lessons, and that means that each life is as valuable as the other. It doesn’t matter if fate birthed you into a coal mining community or if you graduated from Ivy League schools; the lessons we learn throughout life come in all forms and ways. Both of these kids can be excellent at calculus: one went to school and had to pass tests, the other picked it up as he dug down the coal shaft. There are inherent truths within the fabric of the world, and one who opposes even one of them is considered a liar.
Who would advocate for death? Who would pursue thievery? People who are unlearned and who haven’t the capacity to accept fault. Rebuke of any kind goes against their will. They are driven by a force of blindness, and it is only a matter of time before they drive off a cliff. The flow of truth through the world doesn’t stop for anyone or anything. Imagine a flow of water streaming down a river; when you place a large rock in the middle, it’ll split apart. But as you look down lower the bank, you’ll watch them connect once more. For a while, you may be successful in holding back the flow of the world, but eventually, the roosters come home to roost.
For example, the LGBT lie. The world functions through the birthrate. If there were only 2 people in this world and they had only one child, it would be a matter of one generation before humanity is extinct. Each couple that gets together must have a minimum of two children for their efforts not to have gone in vain. Same-sex marriages and castration go against the fabric of the world. It is as if some opened an umbrella to stop the flow of truth from coming upon them; their group might grow and create a split within the flow of the world. But it is only a matter of time before they are left in the past since there is no feasible way for them to continue this after they’ve all gone extinct due to their own egotistical policies and agendas.
Each time with its own rebels. What are we going to do? Is there anything we should do? I think they’re just here for us to see an example of what bad choices do to a human. Sometimes we need physical reminders of what darkness does to man for us to know how to move on the proper track. We get blurred many times in our life. Even as religious and conservative people, we may misconstrue the line of truth and veer off the path with our egotistical motives. We admit, regret, and repent because we don’t want to be an example for the rest of the world, since we know that the end of this story won’t be pretty. We learn to own up to our mistakes and foolishness because going with the flow of the world is the most peaceful way of living.
Sticking to honesty is the most important trait a man can learn here on Earth. How do we know? Because, through time, we’ve seen and we keep on seeing those, who have yet to acknowledge their weakness in this area, fail and evaporate. Their legacies are tainted with scandal, and their memories are wished to be forgotten. In our personal lives, we have smaller choices to make. Our choices don’t affect the fabric of the country; they affect our families and relationships. We have our personal world to upkeep, and it works the same as politics and business. We only strive when we have relationships, and only with honesty can we ever have successful ones.
Through the moral lens history gave us, we can clearly see through evil’s lying face. I understand each party will picture their particular candidate as superior in morals, but ask yourself this: “Is my party flowing with the way of the world, or is it advocating for extinctionist policies?” I don’t care if they give you every pleasure your ego asks for… are their handouts vehicles for a prosperous society in the future? Take a good look at yourself and ask, “Are my desires the reason I came to this world for, or is there something bigger? What are my obligations as a human?” Through this thinking, you’ll find yourself on the road to the tree of life.
