Some veteran Israeli politicians talk so removed from reality that I don’t feel a need to consume anything they say anymore. And then, some consistently talk so far away from truth and authenticity that I safely ignore whatever nonsense they dish up. Being this selective saves me so much time, headache, anger, and worry.
Do you know whom I’m speaking about? Unlikely. It’s up to each of us to stop being naive, love truth and reality, and begin to judge for ourselves.
Reminds me of the man brought to trial on the accusation that he had called the Tsar a donkey. No, the defendant declared, I wasn’t talking about the Tsar. Nonsense, said the judge. Everyone understands that if you called someone a donkey, you must have meant the Tsar.
Understanding who are politically crazy and who are accomplished con artists doesn’t give a license to start slandering them. There is no end to hatred if we all should do that. Let’s just ignore them and focus on the more redeemable politicians. That should do it and keep us busy.
Sometimes I show how media are spreading nonsense. But really, some outlets about some subjects should be just ignored. If it always slanders Israel, if Bibi is certainly guilty even before indicted, if Gay is vile no matter what, those pieces don’t deserve our time, attention or energy.
Another thing to avoid, which I elaborated on before, is needless drama.
Have a good, sweet, happy Jewish New Year, everyone.
