Stop airing Trump’s Corona Virus press briefings, they will get people killed

I am calling on all News Networks and Fox to stop airing President Trump’s Corona Virus briefings. The reasons why I believe they should stop airing them is because he reports misinformation, incites unrest, and uses the press briefings as another way to have his campaign rallies.

Now than ever before, we need to do a better job in not only stopping the spread of the corona virus itself, but the misinformation virus. I am calling it a virus because reckless misinformation can actually get people killed. The President is not a doctor, pharmacist or medical professional of any kind, and legally shouldn’t be giving any kind of medical advice. Whether it’s saying the corona virus is like the flu, or calling it a hoax, this can literally get people killed. Telling people to take a certain kind of drug is also reckless. It’s common knowledge that people react differently taking meds, and people have died from taking the medication that Trump has recommended. Downplaying the pandemic is also irresponsible; expecting the public to have Easter services is putting lives at risk. There have been too many false claims that Trump has made that can endanger people, so when will enough be enough to stop airing his briefings?

His terminology for calling the virus the “Chinese virus” has put Asian Americans in harms way. There have already been cases that have shown the escalation of hate crimes toward Asian Americans because the racist President does not see the big deal of using a racial slur to label the virus. He is motivated by his base to do these things, because I can remember when I used to support him. Earlier, as a conservative, it was the same thing when we demanded Obama to label a terror attack an Islamic terror attack, and I’ve learned that profiling people like that is dangerous and causes incitement. By no longer airing these briefings, hate crimes will decrease.

Lastly, I believe why News Networks and Fox should stop airing his briefings, these “press briefings” are just another version of his campaign rallies. He talks about himself, he attacks Democrats, and just today he was attacking Iran and bringing up immigration talking points. We are in the middle of a global pandemic crisis; we need a leader who can calm the people and unite us with reassurance. Trump is not doing that but is showing why he is unfit to be President. No one in the Senate GOP will hold him accountable. For these reasons I call on News Networks and Fox to stop airing his briefings so he won’t get people killed.
