Summer, Wars And Stuff

The sun is shining, the sky so blue,

I could dive into it, swimming through,

The bees are buzzing, the birds are chirping,

Whilst the builder opposite is busy working,

It looks like a normal day like any yesterday,

But it feels like deepest winter is not far away,

It is raining down on my dry cities and earth,

Showers of rockets, dampening life and mirth,

My phone chirps news feeds of attacks, a siren,

And I wonder about when, where they are firin’,

It’s not by my window at least not yet,

But the grey clouds have gathered and threat,

The storm is starting, when will it abate and cease,

So we can enjoy summer loving and live in peace.
