This interview is with Gil Pekelman, the CEO and Founder of Atera.
Gil is the CEO and Founder of Atera. Under Gil’s leadership, Atera has grown into one of the most innovative, industry-leading platforms for large and small MSPs. Before founding Atera, Gil held senior positions at Indigo NV (now a division of HP) and Exanet (Acquired by DELL). He has a degree in Economics and Management from Tel-Aviv University (Cum Laude) and is the sole inventor of three patents. He is also an avid triathlete, so if you need to speak to him – you’d better stretch first.
Q: What are your main productivity tips?
At Atera, we use the OKR Objectives and Key Results methodology for company-wide goals and personal goals. Once I have my OKRs for the quarter ready, everything else takes care of itself.
Q: What is your favorite drink?
Ice cold beer at the beach.
Q: How do you deal with stress and anxiety?
I run, bike, and do yoga. One of the three will do the job.
Q: Your tips for aspiring entrepreneurs?
Understand the market need, verify it has the potential you are looking for, and then don’t take no for an answer.
Q: Who in the Tech industry would you like to meet for lunch?
Elon Musk 100%.
Q: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Israel, the best place to live. The best place to raise a family and the best place to start a tech company.
Q: What is your favorite book recommendation?
Play Bigger, How Pirates, Dreamers, and Innovators Create and Dominate Markets (Ramadan, Peterson, Lockhead, Maney).
Q: Why are you in Tech?
I can’t help it; I love the excitement of a new version, the thrill of innovation from one of Atera’s amazing team, or a customer that says he loves our software.
