In Hebrew we have a beautiful reminder of our roots. “Ki mi Tziyon taitzai Torah”… From out of Zion (Jerusalem) came our Torah.. our laws and customs which have prevailed for five thousand years.
In Turkish there should be a reminder “from out of Ankara came Turkish bullshit”.
Tayyip Erdogan, the Turkish terror who is President of the Turkish nation has been drinking too much arak, if we are to listen to his remarks before the Turkish parliament on Thursday.
“Jerusalem is ours. It is our city. We lost rule there after the British took it from us in 1918. They remained in our holy city of Jerusalem for 40 years but we remained as the Ottoman empire rulers for 400 years. Jerusalem is ours”.
While acknowledging in passing that the city is also holy to Christians and Jews, he views them as “tenants” while the Turks are the “legitimate owners”.
The drunken Turkish madman needs a lesson in history. He needs to be reminded that since King David established Zion/Jerusalem as the capitol of his kingdom it has been the Jewish capitol for more than two thousand years since before the prophet Mohammed was born and many more years later before he established Islam as the “true religion”.
But I propose that we make him an offer which he can definitely not accept. I propose that we send the Turkish “fruitcake” a bill for four thousand years of overdue Jerusalem municipal taxes.
He recently obliterated the Hagia Sophia as an historic Christian property and “converted” it into a Muslim mosque without any regard or respect for a holy Christian edifice.
What will he do next to the Great synagogue in Istanbul? Do we dare to even imagine such a travesty?
True, Jews lived in safety in Muslim Turkey before and after the Ottomans who welcomed them as refugees from the Spanish inquisition in 1492. But even while Jews lived safely in Turkey, their Jewishness was always restrained by orders and dictates of what they could and could not do, what they were obligated to wear and were not allowed to worship or celebrate religious observances outside of a synagogue and out of view from faithful Muslims who believed the Jews to be infidels.
During the last years of Ottoman rule from 1914-1918, the dreadful years of the First World War, the Jewish population in Turkey was not harmed. Turkish fury was vented mercilessly upon the Christian Armenian population. A genocide in which more than 1 ½ million Armenians were slaughtered – a massacre similar to the Jewish holocaust which the Turkish governments past and present have never been able to apologize and to recognize the horrendous Turkish guilt.
Terrible Tayyip, the Turkish terror, must be denounced by all the nations who are bound together by history. Every nation (sadly without Israel) recognizes the Turkish genocide. Historians are familiar with the 400 years of Ottoman rule in the Middle East. They know that the Ottoman empire extended into Palestine (Eretz Yisrael). And while they ruled in Jerusalem it had never been declared in all those 400 years as a Turkish city.
Ego-maniac Erdogan has made himself the laughing-stock of intelligent people and nations.
Curiously, of the 45 countries in the world which I have visited, I never visited in Turkey. I am told it is a beautiful country with exquisite architecture but I doubt that Israeli tourists fly there to see the public buildings. More important to many Israeli tourists are the less-expensive prices for gold and other fine jewelry. Buildings and museums come after the visits to the jewelry shops in Istanbul.
I have also heard from visitors that it is the best place in the world for an excellent massage in the many saunas.
If that is true, I recommend that the Turkish terror and terrible tyrant Erdogan to visit one of the saunas for a good head massage. Perhaps it will shake his brain loose and will help him to be a more informed student of history.
Jerusalem was never Turkish. It was, is and always will be the heart and soul of the Jewish people.
