The Bernie bombshell

Let me begin by simply stating: A Bernie Sanders presidency will be a disaster for America and a catastrophe for Israel.

That being said, it is frightening that he is far ahead of the other Democrat candidates. He is popular with many people who support his planned economy proposals.

Bernie Sanders announces that he will be America’s first Jewish president. He defines himself as a proud Jew.

The facts question his announcement. He is married to a non-Jewish Irish Catholic woman. He is not a member of any synagogue. He does not observe nor celebrate Jewish holidays or ceremonies. He is bitterly opposed to what he calls the “fascist government of Netanyahu”. He supports the Palestinian cause while claiming Israel as the oppressive monster. Are those the signs of a proud Jew?

It seems quite clear that the only sign of Bernie Sander’s Jewishness is the sign of the brit of circumcision.

In his earlier years he and his first wife had lived and worked on a shomer hatza-ir kibbutz in Israel. There he was first introduced to the ideals of the Soviet Union. He marched with and saluted the red flag of the Soviet Union. He proudly sang the Internationale, the anthem of world communism.

He and his second wife Jane honeymooned in the Soviet Union.

Bernie Sanders, if elected God forbid, may be the first Jewish president but he will also be the first communist president.

His bitterness at Israel’s policies and government are overwhelming. No non-Jewish American politician has condemned Israel as strongly as the “Jewish” Sanders.

If elected, he may attempt to overturn the Trump peace plan. Indications are that he would fail.

But aid to Israel will be greatly reduced while support for the Palestinians will be much increased. He is more comfortable among Arab leaders than among Israeli Zionists.

His political supporters consist mainly of viciously anti-Israel politicians, blacks and whites. Those who have been denied entry to Israel are the first among many to support him and to have his assurance that much aid to Israel will be cut off.

We can expect many unwanted problems under a Sanders administration.

That being said, with or without Russian support, Donald Trump’s re-election would be a blessing for America and for Israel. In spite of his brash mannerism and unpleasant comments about others, he is the best friend that Israel has ever had in the White House.

No American president in past history has done as much and has given as much support to Israel than the Republican president Donald John Trump.

Hopefully Israeli-Americans who have the right to vote will cast ballots for Trump’s re-election in November. Hopefully their actions would be the bomb required to destroy forever the Sanders bombshell.

America deserves better. It’s economy has thrived under the Republican administration. A socialist-communist president’s economic policy would destroy the fabric of American society.

If and when Sanders makes a visit to Israel I hope the red carpet of welcome may be pulled from his feet.

One who defames us and who supports our enemies are not worthy of Israeli or Jewish courtesy.

Regrettably he is the leading candidate in the Democratic campaign. Americans must do everything legally possible to besmirch his name and to disclaim his proposals for an American government under his administration.

If he is elected, the White House in Washington will no longer be white.

Instead its color would change and blush in shame at its occupant.
