The big story
People think that tonight’s important story is about the US election.
About the American people divided. About how the new president will affect the world.
Many think that, because Trump is the likely winner, the war in Ukraine will stop, Iran will be put in its place, terrorists will be expunged, and the world will be a better place.
They worry about half of America not accepting Trump, but many feel that things will work out.
So as everyone stays glued to the news results, it seems that the elections are the big story.
But if we look deeper, we can find a perspective that shines quite brightly. A story of cause and effect. A story of truth and goodness. A story of hope and wonder and miracles.
When Trump was president, he did a lot for Israel and for the Jewish people.
G-d told Abraham, “I will bless those who bless you.”
Trump was saved twice from assassination attempts. The first time, it was because, by Divine providence, he turned his head just so, at the exact moment when the bullet was fired at him. He often marvels about it, and he feels that G-d saved him for a purpose.
Recently Trump came to the ‘Ohel’ of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, prayed, and stood quietly, contemplating.
He thus paid respect to the Rebbe, a great Jewish leader who spread light and warmth and kindness and joy and awareness of the One above everywhere.
Election night is quite a story. But perhaps the biggest story tonight, is a story of light pushing away darkness.
A story of anticipating and trusting that, very soon, we will see a wondrous world, at peace.
A time when the nations will help Israel in its quest to eradicate evil.
A time of Redemption with Moshiach, when the entire world will uphold the seven Noahide laws that G-d told Moses, at Mount Sinai, to tell all the nations.
A time when everyone will see the miracles, and acknowledge G-d’s rulership.
A time when “G-d will be King over the entire earth, for on that day, G-d will be One, and His Name will be One.”
May it happen very soon.
