I seriously doubt that even the fullest and most immediate implementation of the Laxian Key itself could now stem what might shortly become the next phase in this latest test of strength between Palestinians and Israelis.

The uptick in violence will, very likely, be severe and prolonged. And, whatever the outcome, both sides must find themselves only deeper down inside a hole that 66 years of continual conflict have dug for them.

The Key is still be able to provide a ladder by which this hole may be exited but, for the immediate moment, nothing except further casualties and devastation can be expected, the struggle continuing just as always.
