The Hardest of Decisions and the Easiest of Answers

Well, where do we go from here?

As regards the Syrian situation, the UK parliament has, for the time being, declined to sound the drums of war and that leaves Uncle Sam with the unenviable task of going it alone or prevaricating still further until some even greater urgency manifests itself.

Neither of these US options are attractive in any sense of the word but both seem so finely balanced that either one might win out in the end.

If only there could be a third way, non-destructive but still dynamic enough to provide worldwide unity of purpose in specifically addressing such morally reprehensible and monstrous crimes. Indeed, what if there were a standing convention that responded to all these incidents and others like them in a manner such that none would take place ever again?

Sometimes it’s the hardest of decisions that can often produce the easiest of answers. If you know where to look.
