The Fruits of Ruth

RBG, thank you for planting the trees of equality

The fruits upon which we daily feast

So easily

This Orchard so obvious

And abundant

That we forget the toil

Of early gardeners who turned the soil

With their teeth

Their sleepless restless protests

Their brilliance

Now laid to rest

As we inherit acres endless

of opportunity

Permission slips for women are antiquity…

We simply shine, dissent, divine,

& speak with ease

And bless these daily fruits

This forest planted for us,

By the iconic legal gardening

of RBG
