The Israeli weapon industry needs a pro-active humanitarian peace policy

Regularly, in the international, and especially in the anti-Zionist press, Israeli is criticized for letting its defense industry sell weapons to immoral and murderous regimes. That seems a moral protest until you notice that all industrial nations do this. Just Israel is singled out or blamed for having the best weapons. Is it an accomplishment to sell second-class weapons?

Most nations are anti-Israel. That shows in the UN but also among our so-called friends who can’t stop lecturing and criticizing us in public while behind closed doors trying to order us to further their imperialistic goals.

A case in point is that again, the junta in Gaza commits war crimes days in a row, targeting Israel’s population (while the IDF only targets terrorists, does everything to minimize collateral damage, to spare civilians) and the world (UN) doesn’t object. Attempts to mass-murdering and exterminate Jews are still OK with non-Jews? (To call ‘on both sides’ to be peace-loving is like bewailing tensions between bank robbers and law enforcement.)

Still, it is horrible that weapons are sold from Israel — if it’s true — against civilians of Armenians, Myanmar, or Syria. Even if the whole world does so too because we should set a good example. Yet, we don’t need to be more Catholic than the Pope. So, let me suggest how our military industry can be spearheading a more just cleaner weapon policy toward peace.

(By the way, if the whole anti-democratic and half of the so-called democratic world was not boycotting Israel, and fueling the ongoing cold (and sometimes hot) war against its existence, we could be a whole lot less worried about any lost income, including from weapon sales.)

A special department of the Israeli weapon industry should endeavor weapon embargos against powers that tyrannize populations or commit genocide. (Just like the scientific world expels quacks.) They shouldn’t just on their own withdraw from selling weapons to rogue regimes since that would only mean that others would supply them with weapons instead.

Capitalizing on our sad lot of having to produce weapons for our own survival, we could easily further worldwide weapon sales boycotts where we should. Such a combination is easy because almost all Jews hate the idea of killing and war. We should not play innocent and holy while letting others do the sales in our place. But, we could lead by removing from the market all offensive genocidal and repressive weapon sales by anyone.

We need to sell weapons and also embargoes. We can do it.
