The Jews who defile the memory of the Holocaust to please anti-Semites

The tactic of equating the highly ethical actions of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza with the Nazi-perpetrated Holocaust of six million Jews is now common in the arsenal of the enemies of Israel. And why not? Their lies are never seriously challenged except by Israel and its vocal supporters, a tiny minority compared to the hordes of anti-Semites who continually use every possible unscrupulous tactic to demonize Israel.

This tactic, however, is particularly mystifying when used by people who claim to be Jews. On July 21, 2014, Naomi Wolf, an American author and former political advisor, wrote on her Facebook page, “I mourn genocide [sic] in Gaza because I am the granddaughter of a family half wiped out in a holocaust [sic] and I know genocide when I see it”.

To date, Wolf has not had the decency to remove this post, and she is likely proud that her post is now famous and has garnered over 14,000 votes of approval, over 1,500 comments, and 8,602 re-posts.

If I were to believe that Wolf has personal knowledge of the Holocaust and its similarity to Israel’s actions in Gaza, I would have to conclude that:

  • Israel must have sent millions of Palestinian men, women, and children to labor camps where they must be used as slaves while being fed a starvation diet of meagre amounts of bread and water.
  • Israel must have mistreated Palestinians so badly in labor camps that vast numbers died from malnourishment or exhaustion.
  • Israel must have established killing factories (death camps) where it must have sent frequent trainloads of Palestinians.
  • Within hours of their arrival at death camps, the Palestinians must have been stripped of their possessions, gassed to death, and burned in crematoriums.
  • Israel, in a period of a few years, must have almost wiped out the population of Gaza.

Any serious analysis of the situation in Gaza, however, shows that nothing of the sort has occurred. Despite years of hostilities between the IDF and Gaza terrorists, including three wars, the yearly rate of Gaza population growth is almost 3%, the thirteenth highest in the world.

If Wolf had any interest in the facts, she would have known that far from starving Gaza, Israel provides vast amounts of aid, even during wars. She would have known that the perfectly legitimate blockade of Gaza by Israel did not start until after Gaza terrorists started rocket attacks against Israel, and that the blockade’s only objective is to try to prevent the entry into Gaza of weapons that would be used against Israel and supplies that would be used to build terror tunnels into Israel.

I am Arab and none of my family has perished in the Holocaust. Perhaps I should leave Wolf’s lies for Jews to comment on, and yet her callous and dishonest behavior disturbs me.

When a Jew like Naomi Wolf uses the memory of her grandparents to falsely claim that Israel’s legitimate defense against terrorism is equivalent to the Holocaust that killed six million Jews, she is defiling the memory of her own grandparents, and she is defiling the memory of every Jew who died in the Holocaust.

And for what? To assist in demonizing Israel, the nation of the Jews, her people? To increase the size of her following by adding to it more anti-Semites?

Jews like Naomi Wolf have decided to put their hate of Israel and their obsessive need for attention above the love and respect of their own family, and well above any sense of belonging to the Jewish people. I am just an Arab, but the behavior of those Jews goes beyond offending other Jews. It deeply offends every moral person on earth.
