The Mourner

They had Catherine the Great, we have Biden the Mourner.

Faced by criticism, that the president had once again left the White House during a crisis, Jen Psaki, White House Press Secretary, said he was at a family funeral. The funeral was the mother of his late son’s mother-in-law.

If he wanted to go to so many funerals he should have gone to undertaker school.

Can’t he find any funerals in the D.C. area he can attend?

Does he do pet funerals?

Funerals are Biden’s secret weapon. He thinks no one can touch him of he is going to a funeral or his late son’s grave in Grenville, Delaware.. You really gonna attack a mourner?  Weekend after weekend, we are subject to Biden visiting tombstones. Someone should tell him that everyone, especially people who reach 79, knows  people who have died, however we go on with our lives. This nation needs a president living in the present, not a Tel-R-Prompter reader in a fake TV studio. As time goes on, his face gets more frozen, his consonants increasingly slur, his eyes  narrow..  If he tries to answer a reporter’s question he either gets angry, expresses fear of his team, rambles or says something untrue. His handlers start shouting “Thank you! Thank you!” and rush reporters out of the room. (Compare to Trump who was accessible and transparent, even answered questions on the White House driveway ad infinitum.)

On March 1, 2022 Biden will read his State of the Union speech in Congress (the same Congress where Trump, in 2020, delivered one of the greatest SOTU speeches ever heard. It was an honest retrospective of the nation’s great successes during his administration. It was soaring, aspirational and inclusive. Pelosi fiddled with her copy in full view of the world’s cameras, then with exaggerated gestures, stood and ripped it up.)  Biden will deliver his speech with the Capitol surrounded by increased law enforcement and fencing.  What could he possibly list as his administrations’ achievements? Despite skyrocketing crime and inflation, loss of our southern border, surrender of Afghanistan, invasion of Ukraine and looming Chinese and Iranian threats, expect Pelosi and Dems to repeatedly leap to their feet with joy and delight. No destruction of National Archive property by Nan-the-Ripper this time.

After 13 months of the Biden Administration it is apparent that it is the United States, its history, values, achievements that are the true mourners and not graveyard shuffling  Biden.
