The Reason for the Sanctuary Torah Portion- Vayakhel

From the heights of Truth, Moses descends to say

Come together to build a Sanctuary.

Only when our conscience does resonate,

We understand that a joint endeavour

Brings us our purpose, our very mission;

That, as part of the whole, we feel complete.

In a mirror, one sees one’s reflection;

Through glass and water, but is that each, me?

Who, then, are we behind the illusion?

Solely, that, which we are meant to think, say, do,

If, and when, we finally recognize,

What it is, that we can do for others.

What is the reason for the Sanctuary?

Together, to invite God, to find ourselves.

As a drop of water in the ocean,

Its loss is its gain, absorbed in the sea.
